Appropriate or not?

I recently received an email from an old flame, a generic “add me to your Yahoo Messenger list”. I don’t use Yahoo Messenger anymore, having decided that Twitter and FaceBook more than suit my communication needs online. I haven’t spoken to this particular guy in months, and then it was a very brief email from him saying Mazel Tov for the wedding. We dated very briefly (a month?) way back when – nice enough guy but obviously not for me.

So why is he adding me, or wanting to add me, to his contact list? Last I hear he was engaged to get married. I discussed this with my KoD who agreed with me that this is not appropriate – but the innocent part of me (yes there is one) wonders if this could be simply an innocuous way for him to say hi once in a while.

maybe he did it by mistake? could that be?

Lady LnL – he had to have entered my name to find me in order to send a request.

  5. Sometimes people accidentally “import all” in their contact list when adding friends. Don’t read into this one. He’s gone and you’ve found your KoD. Thats all that matters.

    Good point Susanne….

(thing is tho, there are some types that cannot let go, you know? there is one guy that every 2 or 3 months just has to drop me an email to say hi when i have made it perfectly clear to disappear…so maybe i am a little sensitive?)

There is a way to set your e-mails to reject any e-mail sent by this guy, I had my hub do this for me one time. Hopefully he and the other guy will meet their beshairt and they won’t bug you anymore.

  8. Just ignore it. He’s so not worth it and you know he knows exactly what he is doing- especially if it is the now MARRIED guy I think it is…
Nothing good can really come from openning that old can of worms.

    no its not combo-dude!!!

  10. Alright, so another man found you irresistable, couldn’t live alone any longer and actually COMMITTED?! That is a great track record!

Not an accident – i just received an email asking to add him to LinkedIn (like i use that? no clue what it even is or how I am on it!!)
