Sometimes you touch people without realizing :)

I just received this email and I wanted to share it with you.

Hi, Hadassah,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that I think you are doing a tremendous mitzvah and service to Klall Yisroel with your enthusiastic status updates about aspects of your marriage to K.o.d. Singles are bombarded with news and sightings of destructive and hurtful marriages. Even when they are not so bad they can be filled with monotony, complaints, and a sense of acceptance of marriage mediocrity as our lot in life. We singles pick up these messages subtly or as an outlet for complaints from our married friends and family.

That is why it is so crucial for you to continue with your incredibly encouraging, uplifting and hope inducing status updates about your marriage. It is incredibly heartening to see a wife that is super excited and looking forward each time her husband is coming back to town and misses him terribly when they are not together. Your vignettes about married life are magical and inspiring. For example the one where your husband asked you to join you in the study because of something important and he just wanted to twirl with you in a little dance of appreciation was beautiful and uplifting.

Most people are super private about the positive sides of marriage so we are bombarded primarily with all the negative aspects. It’s kind of like news reports on TV which is all about murder, disasters, corruption, and tragedy. We very much need to see the positive side of what a healthy, loving, and suitable marriage can be like.

On behalf of all your Facebook, Twitter, and blog friends’ thank you for being a shining example of what a happy marriage can look like. Thank you for spreading that joy, inspiration, and hope to all of us who have not yet arrived at wedded bliss.

Kesiva v’Chasima Tova and a gut gebentched year!

Yitz 😉
